'Stop this now': Kareena Kapoor requests media to respect family’s privacy
Kareena Kapoor has issued a strong warning to the media and paparazzi following the recent attack on her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan.
The family has been under intense scrutiny since the incident on January 16, when Saif was stabbed during a break-in at his residence in Bandra.
The actor sustained multiple injuries, including a stab wound near his spine, as he intervened during a confrontation between an intruder and his housemaid.
Despite Kareena’s earlier request for privacy, media and paparazzi have continued to surround the family’s residence, as well as Lilavati Hospital, where Saif is currently recovering.
This attention escalated when a video surfaced showing staff members carrying toys into the couple’s home. The footage was met with outrage from Kareena, who reshared the video on her Instagram stories, accompanied by a caption reading, “Stop this now. Have a heart. Leave us alone, for God's sake.” However, the post was later deleted, but not before it had garnered widespread attention online.
Kareena’s frustration stems from the ongoing media presence. In a previous Instagram post, Kareena had expressed the family’s need for privacy, writing, “It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from relentless speculation and coverage.”

She continued, “While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety. I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family.”
The attack occurred when an intruder, entered Saif’s home with the apparent intent to steal. During the confrontation, Saif was injured while attempting to protect his household.
Dr Nitin Dange, who is overseeing Saif’s treatment at Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that the actor had undergone multiple surgeries and was now out of immediate danger.
Saif is currently being kept under observation, with doctors noting an improvement in his condition. However, the decision to discharge him has been delayed, and the actor will remain in the hospital for another day or two.
Dr. Dange described Saif’s bravery, recalling how the actor walked into the hospital "like a lion" despite being covered in blood. "He had blood all over. But he walked in like a lion with his young child.
He is a real hero. He is doing well currently. His parameters have improved. He is being shifted from the ICU to a special room. We will keep visitors in check. We want him to rest," the doctor said.
The police have launched an investigation into the attack and have registered charges under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. Various investigation teams have been formed to investigate the incident, which is being treated as an attempted burglary turned violent.
