Matty Healy of The 1975 has responded to speculation that the band’s upcoming album will be inspired by his brief romance with Taylor Swift. The chatter gained traction after insiders suggested the album's rumored lead single, "God Has Entered My Body," references their 2023 fling.
Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, released in early 2024, is said to contain subtle digs at Healy, including tracks like "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived." In response, Healy joined a Reddit thread over the weekend, humorously calling the rumors "huge if true."
Sources have indicated that Healy prefers to process personal feelings through his music rather than public statements. An insider told The Sun, "Fans should pay close attention to his lyrics—they’re his outlet for expressing what he doesn’t say aloud."
In October, Healy shared insights into his creative process during a podcast appearance, emphasizing his preference for exploring broader themes over personal anecdotes. "I’ve moved past writing about casual relationships or public perceptions," he explained, referencing his evolution as an artist since The 1975’s debut album.
Despite rumors, Healy appears unfazed, focusing on the band’s sixth studio album, a follow-up to 2022’s Being Funny in a Foreign Language. Meanwhile, Swift has moved on with NFL star Travis Kelce, while Healy is now engaged to model Gabbriette.
