TikToker Siyah reportedly dies at 17 in tragic shooting incident

Siyah’s tragic death at 17 has left fans and followers heartbroken.

Siyah, a rising TikTok star known as @s1yahhh._ on TikTok and Instagram, allegedly passed away at 17. The news was shared by content creator Messy Maj, known as @messymajj on Instagram, on January 20. 

In his post, Maj captioned it: "Let’s send our condolences and prayers to #Siyah loved ones! She reportedly passed away at the age of 17 from gun violence."

Accompanying the post were pictures of Siyah and screenshots from two news reports: one from CBS News and the other from loscerritonews.net. The latter report stated: "A shooting took place the previous night at Los Cerritos Center near Chipotle, inside a vehicle with multiple people, possibly gang-affiliated. One person was shot, likely by accident, and was taken to the hospital in critical condition."

Loscerritosnews.net also noted: "The other people in the vehicle were detained. No suspects remain at large. LASD has secured the parking lot for investigation."

Meanwhile, CBS News confirmed the victim was a woman, though her identity was not disclosed. Maj also shared a screengrab of an Instagram Story from a woman believed to be Siyah’s mother, which included a senior year photo of the TikToker and the caption: “RIP Siyah Girl, mommy loves you so much always and forever!!!”

A young man, possibly Siyah's boyfriend, using the handle @dylannn1k, also mourned her loss via Instagram Stories, as shown in Maj’s screenshots. 

Following the news, Messy Maj and Siyah's fans claimed that she was the person reported shot and killed, with tributes flooding in. One TikTok user, @mstooboujiee, left a comment on Siyah’s final post: “I get on TikTok and this the first video on my feed. Rest easy pretty girl.”
