Kat Dennings is honoring the late Bob Saget, recalling the kindness and protective nature he showed her during their time together on Raising Dad.
The actress, who starred with Saget on the 2001 sitcom as father-daughter duo Matt and Sarah Stewart, spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about her fond memories of the actor, who passed away three years ago.
Although Raising Dad only lasted one season, Saget’s role as the father figure extended beyond the set. Dennings, then a young actress, remembers Saget as being incredibly protective and sweet. “He was very protective of me because I was a young actress, and he had daughters. So he was very sweet to me and very protective and very kind,” she recalled.
Saget, who passed away on January 9, 2022, at age 65 due to blunt head trauma, left a lasting impact on Dennings. She continues to cherish the "very nice memories" she has of him.
Meanwhile, Saget's wife, Kelly Rizzo, reflected on the third anniversary of his death, sharing a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. She expressed her appreciation for the outpouring of love from the public, acknowledging how Saget’s legacy continues to resonate with fans and loved ones. His influence remains strong, and his memory lives on in those who knew him best.
