Reinier de Ridder showcased his elite grappling skills with a dominant submission victory over Kevin Holland at UFC 311. The middleweight bout, held at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, marked the opening of the main card on Saturday night.

De Ridder, a former two-division ONE Championship titleholder, secured the win at 3:31 of the first round, improving his record to 19-2 MMA and 2-0 UFC. The fight started decisively when de Ridder capitalized on a missed left hook from Holland to execute a swift takedown.

“The goal was always to choke the guy out,” de Ridder said during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, and he delivered on that promise.

After establishing control on the ground, de Ridder capitalized on a critical moment when Holland attempted to stand. De Ridder quickly took his opponent's back and locked in a rear-naked choke, forcing the tap-out within seconds.

The victory is de Ridder’s second since joining the UFC in November, and he expressed interest in facing a top-five contender in his next fight.

Holland, who entered the fight with plans for an active 2025, has now lost four of his past five bouts, including two consecutive defeats. The loss brings his record to 26-13 MMA and 13-10 UFC.
