During his appearance on Mazaq Raat, Emmad Irfani discussed his definition of love and the all-encompassing nature of it. He also touched upon his experiences with unrequited love, also sharing what he'd do if he was on the receiving end of it.
"For me, love is about respecting the other person. Whoever you cross paths with, just be kind to them. I don't think love needs to be physical. Just wishing someone well could be love, too," he said. "As for romantic love, in my limited experience, that is something you cannot live without."
Emmad candidly shared that he has experienced one-sided love during his youth, though he never had the courage to confess his feelings. "I don't know if there was something special about that person or if it was my own desperation," he joked.
Addressing the unnamed crush from his youth, he sweetly said, "All I want to say is that I hope you're doing well in life, that you're happy and safe, and that life has treated you well."
As for those who are hopelessly in love with Emmad himself, the 44-year-old actor hoped that he'd be able to treat them with an appropriate amount of love and respect in the brief time he'd get to be around them. If someone with unrequited love were to confess to him, he'd receive it with a smile and gratitude.
It isn't surprising that this heartthrob would be greeted by an overflowing amount of love from his fans. However, given his debonair demeanour, it is hard for his admirers to believe that he could be on the melancholic side of love.
When asked about being the object of envy because of his looks, Emmad said, "Your appearance is not in your hands. It's in your genes; it's essentially a gift from God. I feel that true beauty lies in your behaviour and your personality. It all comes down to how you interact with others. Your courtesy is your jewel."
