LG employees' protest enters third day

PESHAWAR:

Local Government (LG) employees of the Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar continued their protest against the non-payment of salaries for a third consecutive day on Friday. All LG offices remained closed and a protest demonstration and sit-in also continued non-stop in different places. A gathering of employees in the parking area of Town-I, which began in the morning, eventually turned into a rally.

In a show of respect for Friday prayers, a decision was made not to hold the sit-in at the Bacha Khan Chowk. They said the situation was dire, with families struggling to make ends meet, children being expelled from school due to non-payment of fees, and electricity and gas connections being cut off.
