Zara Dar, a former PhD student turned adult content creator, has made headlines by revealing that she has been sharing her STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) educational videos on adult platforms, including Pornhub.

Dar, who quit her PhD program to join OnlyFans, took to social media to explain that while she continues to publish her content on YouTube, Pornhub offers significantly higher ad revenue.

In a viral post, Dar shared that YouTube typically generates more views, but Pornhub pays nearly three times the revenue per million views.

"People may not know this, but I publish the same STEM videos on both YouTube and Pornhub," she wrote, explaining that Pornhub pays $1,000 per million views, compared to YouTube's $340. She shared a screenshot comparing the videos on both platforms, titled “What is a Neural Network?”

Her post quickly gained traction, sparking curiosity and surprise among social media users who questioned why educational content would be shared on an adult platform with some reacting with humor, as one user wrote, "Who knew STEM could thrive on all platforms?"

However, she also revealed that the post led to her LinkedIn account being banned. “I shared the same post on X and LinkedIn comparing ad revenue, and while the post went semi-viral, my account was unexpectedly blocked without prior notice!” she wrote.

Dar previously made headlines last month when she announced her decision to quit her PhD studies and join OnlyFans as a model. In her YouTube video titled "PhD dropout to OnlyFans model," she described her decision as a "career switch" and a gamble for her future.

She emphasised her desire for a life unshackled from academic or corporate expectations.
