Commissioner XI beat Mayor XI by 8-4 to win the Sports Festival Wheelchair Basketball one-day event on Wednesday, organized by the KBA and DEWA Academy.
For the winning team, Muhammad Bin Umar scored 4 points, Muhammad Abbas and Muhammad Umar scored 2 points each. For the runner-up team, Shakeel Ahmed scored 4 points.
After the final, Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hasan Ali Naqvi, expressed his commitment to supporting Karachi's youth in sports and other healthy activities as long as he holds office.
He made these remarks during the prize distribution ceremony of the event. The commissioner said it is gratifying to see that the Sports Festival, which began on Dec 10, has been running smoothly and with discipline.
The festival will conclude on Jan 30, and school-level sports competitions will start after Eid-ul-Fitr.
On this occasion, awards were presented to MD of SSWMB Tariq Nizamani, TMC President Municipal Commissioner Noor Hasan Jokhio, and DD Parks Ahmer Shafiq for their support of the festival.
Prominent attendees included renowned journalist Asad Ilyas Shakir, POA Associate Secretary Tahmeena Asif, TMC's Director Sports Asif Azeem, AC Mintaha Azhar, ACG Hazim Bhungwar, Commissioner Karachi Director Sports Ghulam Muhammad Khan, MCB's Muhammad Haider Khan, SBBA Patron Sheikh Shakeel Ilyas, sports organizers Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi, Khalid Brohi and others.
