WhatsApp introduces new chat features to enhance user experience

Company introduced camera effects, selfie stickers, quicker reactions, and sticker pack sharing features

WhatsApp has rolled out four new features aimed at making chats with friends and loved ones more engaging and enjoyable.

In a blog post, the company announced the introduction of camera effects, selfie stickers, quicker reactions, and sticker pack sharing to streamline and enhance the messaging experience.

“With this update, users will have access to 30 backgrounds, filters, and effects for photos or videos captured within chats,” the post read. These options will enable users to add creative touches to their media, improving the overall messaging experience.

One of the key additions is the selfie stickers feature. Android users can now create custom stickers by clicking the "Create Sticker" icon and using their camera to turn selfies into personalised stickers. The feature will be available for iOS devices soon.

The update also simplifies the process of sharing sticker packs, allowing users to recommend and share their favourite sticker collections directly within chats.

Additionally, message reactions have been made quicker, with users now able to double-tap any message to react instantly. Popular emojis are being added to the reactions list for effortless expression without typing.

WhatsApp said it is excited about launching more features in 2025. According to the company, the newly announced features will be rolled out to users in the coming weeks.
