Rebecca Black recently opened up about the emotional impact of being ridiculed by fellow celebrities following the release of her viral "Friday" music video. The 26-year-old singer, who became the subject of widespread mockery in 2011, discussed how the teasing, especially from the entertainment industry, left her feeling "crushed."

In the January 14 episode of Mythical Kitchen, Black recalled the intense criticism she faced after "Friday" gained massive attention, becoming both a viral sensation and a target for online ridicule. She revealed how the comments from industry professionals and celebrities affected her deeply, as they added to the already overwhelming pressure of the public scrutiny she was experiencing at the time.

Host Mythical Chef Josh recalled a 2011 interview in which Lady Gaga praised Black, calling her a "genius." For Black, at the time, the pop star's words held significant meaning. "It was so special and it's only meant more to me, I think, as I've kind of gone throughout my career and have tried to navigate this entire process," Black, now 27, reflected.

Looking back, Black described that period as chaotic. At just 13 years old, she was a big fan of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Justin Bieber—so much so that she had cardboard cutouts of them in her bedroom. However, after the release of "Friday" and its viral video, Black’s perception of these stars shifted.

"It was such a crazy experience to go from, like, living in my bedroom and all of these people being so far away to, all of a sudden like, them mentioning your name somewhere or just acknowledging that you exist," she reflected.

Black's new album, Salvation, is set to release on February 27.
