Cold wave persists in Karachi, temperature drops to 10.8°C

The cold weather continues in Karachi, with the minimum temperature recorded at 10.8°C on Monday night, Express News reported.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the weather will remain cold and dry for the next 24 hours, with winds expected to blow from the northeast at a speed of 5 to 25 kilometers per hour.

The maximum temperature is expected to reach 25°C, while the minimum could drop to 10°C. Due to light fog, visibility has been recorded at 2 kilometers today.

In Punjab, particularly Lahore, dry weather is causing an increase in fog during the mornings and nights. The fog has led to difficulties in traffic, making conditions hazardous.

The Met Office also forecasts the possibility of a rain system arriving in Pakistan between January 18 and 20, bringing light showers to parts of Punjab, including Lahore.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 5°C, with the maximum expected to reach 19°C.

According to the forecast from the Early Warning Centre of the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain dry and cold in the city for the next few days. During this period, northeast and east winds are expected to prevail.
