PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has declared granting advisers and special assistants powers equivalent to provincial ministers, allowing them to attend and represent in assemblies, authorities, boards, commissions, councils, committees, and various institutional meetings, as unconstitutional and illegal.

He returned the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Laws (Amendment) Bill without signing, citing reservations.

In a written note, he directed the assembly to reconsider the bill. The government, following objections from opposition and ruling members, has referred the bill to the Select Committee.
