Oppo has teased the upcoming Find N5, claiming it will be the world's thinnest foldable smartphone, surpassing even the Honor Magic V3, currently the slimmest foldable at 4.35mm when unfolded.
The teaser, posted by Oppo's chief product officer Pete Lau on Weibo, shows a phone significantly thinner than a common pencil, hinting at its impressive slim design. While details remain limited, the device is set for a February release, according to Lau's post on the Chinese social media platform.
Oppo has not revealed full specifications, but rumours suggest the Find N5 will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a triple 50-megapixel rear camera system, and a 5,900mAh battery.
In the realm of foldable phones, thinner designs are highly sought after, as most devices in this category are heavier and bulkier compared to standard smartphones. A thinner foldable like the Find N5 promises to provide extra screen space without compromising portability.
Though it’s likely the Oppo Find N5 will debut in China, there’s speculation that Oppo's sister company, OnePlus, may release a version of the device under the name OnePlus Open 2, similar to the strategy used with the Oppo Find N3 and the OnePlus Open.
