In a lavish display of wealth, an overseas Pakistani wedding in Sialkot's district saw currency notes showered on guests, with more than Rs50 million Pakistani rupees and foreign currencies being distributed.

According to reports, friends and family of the groom arranged for special containers in the wedding hall to ensure that currency notes were thrown around during the celebrations.

As the wedding procession left from the village of Bikhre Wali, the groom's brothers and friends began throwing currency notes along the route.

Upon reaching the wedding hall in Sambrial, the tradition continued with more notes being scattered throughout the venue.

The extravagant display led to a surge in attendees, with many guests travelling from far and wide to collect the notes, leaving them significantly wealthier by the end of the event.

The groom, Imran, who had arrived from Italy, and his brothers, who had travelled from Spain and Canada, were reported to have generously distributed money during the festivities.

The village of Bikhre Wali, known as a hub for overseas Pakistanis, has developed a reputation for such extravagant celebrations, where guests compete to show their generosity by showering others with currency during weddings.

This practice has become a notable feature of weddings in the area, where large sums of money are often distributed, enhancing the celebration.
