A gas cylinder explosion in Faisal Colony, within the jurisdiction of Airport police station, left 13 people injured, including five children.
Among the injured, five were critically wounded and transferred to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), while others received treatment at Holy Family Hospital.
According to police, the incident occurred at the home of a local resident where a gas cylinder in the kitchen apparently leaked, causing gas to accumulate in the house.
When a family member attempted to turn on a light, it triggered a powerful explosion.
The blast shattered windows, doors, and other household items.
Residents of the area rushed to assist the injured and transported them to Benazir Bhutto and Holy Family hospitals. Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122 and Airport Police also arrived at the scene.
Rescue officials confirmed that the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder but noted that no fire broke out.
The station house officer (SHO) of the area along with a police team visited the site for inspection.
Police reported that 13 people, including men, women, and children, sustained injuries in the incident. The critically injured victims, including the home owner, his daughter, and three women, were later shifted to PIMS for advanced medical care.
Authorities stated that the explosion appeared to be caused by a gas cylinder leak, but further investigations are underway to clarify the circumstances.
