Discussions centred on exports, supportive policies for women-led businesses

The 12th Wexnet 2025, Pakistan's largest women entrepreneurs' exhibition, commenced on Friday at the Lahore Expo Centre, organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). Federal Secretary of Commerce Jawad Paul Khuwaja formally inaugurated the event.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, as per a press statement, Khuwaja stated, "The objective of Wexnet 2025 is to provide a platform for women across Pakistan to expand their businesses nationally and internationally." He highlighted the government's commitment to uplifting women entrepreneurs, pledging further financial assistance to support their growth. Khuwaja praised TDAP's efforts in empowering women and stressed the exhibition's importance for fostering entrepreneurship.

On the sidelines of the event, Khuwaja and TDAP Secretary Sheryar Taj held discussions with key stakeholders, including Umar Bin Asad of Li & Fung Pakistan and various representatives from women's chambers of commerce. According to the statement, the talks focused on enhancing exports, inter-provincial collaboration, and creating supportive policies for women-led businesses.

A highlight of the exhibition was the 33rd session of the National Exporters Training Programme (NETP) for women exporters. Farah Bashir, President of DG Khan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI), welcomed participants, while Qurrat-ul-Ain, Vice President of Women FPCCI, discussed export potential for women entrepreneurs. Afshan Uroos, Deputy Manager of TDAP, conducted training modules on export research, documentation, financing, and marketing.
