ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and lawyer Latif Khosa to travel abroad, despite his name being on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard Khosa's petition challenging the inclusion of his name in the ECL.

During the proceedings, the prosecutor informed the court that Khosa's name had been added to the ECL due to a pending case against him.

The court inquired why Khosa's name was placed on the ECL, questioning if there was any concern that he might flee the country and not return.

In his defense, Khosa informed the court that he has a scheduled flight to Canada on Friday.

The court directed him to submit an affidavit in the trial court, ensuring his commitment to appear before the court whenever summoned.

Subsequently, the IHC allowed him to travel abroad.

A case related to holding a protest outside the Supreme Court was registered against Latif Khosa at the Secretariat Police Station.
