The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Higher Education Department has decided to implement a ranking system in all universities and colleges.

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Higher Education, Meena Khan Afridi, where detailed briefings were given on the ranking criteria for universities and colleges.

The primary goal of this ranking system is to provide students with greater access to quality education. Minister Afridi emphasized that the introduction of this system will significantly improve the educational standards in the region.

She instructed relevant authorities to collect data from the past three years to rank institutions based on their performance.

Earlier, Despite the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s focus on education and health, millions of children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) remain out of school, particularly in tribal districts where girls' education is often neglected.

Issues like the lack of functional schools due to terrorism or natural disasters further exacerbate the problem.

Although the education budget has increased, K-P continues to face financial difficulties in schools and universities, with teachers protesting for better conditions.

Experts emphasize the need for infrastructural upgrades and reforms to ensure access to quality education for all children, particularly girls.

Despite rising budget allocations, the government's commitment to addressing the education crisis remains in question.
