Bahrain-bound passenger caught with 40 heroin-filled capsules in stomach

ANF seizes drugs worth more than Rs 220 million in various operations, arrests nine suspects.

A Bahrain-bound passenger was arrested at Lahore International Airport after 40 heroin-filled capsules were found in his possession.

Meanwhile, around 64 crystal meth (ice) filled capsules were recovered from a passenger's stomach who was en route to Saudi Arabia's jeddah from Lahore.

In other various operations, the ANF seized drugs worth over Rs 220 million and arrested nine suspects.

In Balochistan, 1,208 kilograms of hashish were seized from two different areas in Pishin.

At the M1 Interchange near Islamabad, 8.4 kilograms of hashish were found in the hidden compartments of a vehicle, and the driver was arrested. In Karachi, 250 grams of heroin were recovered from a motorcyclist near Main Korangi Road.

In Sialkot, 3 kilograms of heroin, 2 kilograms of crystal meth, and 1.2 kilograms of hashish were found in a suspect’s bag near Daska Chowk.

Near Sargodha Mor, Mianwali, 4.8 kilograms of hashish were recovered from two suspects, and at the Kamonki Toll Plaza in Gujranwala, 2.5 kilograms of heroin were found in a truck’s secret compartments, leading to the arrest of the driver.

Additionally, 700 grams of hashish were recovered from a suspect at the Burhan Toll Plaza near Attock. Cases have been filed against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway.

Previously, ANF carried out six successful operations across the country, leading to the arrest of seven suspects and the recovery of more than 101 kg of drugs valued at Rs24.4 million, a spokesperson for the force announced on Saturday.

The operations included seizing 2 kg of ice from a passenger’s trolley bag at Islamabad International Airport as the individual was about to board a flight to Bahrain.

Additionally, 1,060 grams of heroin was found in the possession of a passenger at Karachi International Airport, who was en route to Jeddah.

In Balochistan, authorities recovered a substantial haul of drugs, including 25 kg of opium and 7 kg of heroin, from an uninhabited area in Hub District.

Last week the ANF seized over 10 kilograms of drugs from a Pakistani-origin British citizen.

According to the ANF, during a routine operation at Peshawar Airport, 10.6 kilograms of hashish were found hidden in the suspect's trolley bag. The drugs were carefully concealed in boxes.

The suspect was reportedly traveling from Peshawar to London via Doha.
