Three brothers were killed and a cousin injured when unidentified armed assailants stormed a police station in Faisalabad early Monday, police said.

The attack took place at Tandlaianwala’s Saddar police station, where the detainees were being held in connection with a murder case.

The victims, Bilal, Usman, and Nasir, were locked up due to their alleged involvement in a case filed under Section 302, police sources confirmed.

The attackers reportedly used a ladder to scale the back of the station and locked the duty officers inside their rooms before opening fire on the detainees.

A fourth detainee, identified as Asif, sustained injuries in the assault.

The victims belonged to the Sukhera clan and were accused of killing members of the rival Kharal clan.

Authorities had moved them to the Saddar police station for safety reasons due to an ongoing feud between the groups.

Police have detained six suspects in connection with the attack, with initial investigations pointing to long-standing enmity as the motive.

The assailants managed to flee the scene after the shooting, leaving local law enforcement scrambling to secure the area.

Senior police officials, including Faisalabad’s city police officer, rushed to the site following the attack. A spokesperson for Punjab police stated that teams from the investigation and CIA units are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators.

Two brothers shot dead for 'honour'

Two brothers were shot dead in an alleged honour killing late Friday night in Haripur.

According to the police, the incident occurred in Sara-i-Naimat Khan, where the assailants, reportedly motivated by familial resentment over a love marriage, opened fire, killing the siblings on the spot.

The victims, identified as Azam and Zulfiqar, were residents of Kundal.

Sources revealed that tensions had been brewing for over a month since one of the brothers married a woman of his choice against her family's wishes.

A previous confrontation had reportedly involved gunfire from the bride's family, police stated.

An abduction case against the slain brothers had earlier been registered by the woman's family at the local police station.

However, a reconciliation was reached with the intervention of local elders and law enforcement.

On the night of the attack, eyewitnesses reported that the brothers were returning home on a motorcycle when unidentified gunmen ambushed them.

The bodies were shifted to a hospital for an autopsy and later handed over to their family for burial in their native village.
