Alleged fraudster on FIA hook

An alleged fraudster who swindled money from citizens by posing as a government official has been arrested in Haripur.

The man, identified as Fazal Ullah from Hazara, posed as a fake DSP, lawyer, judge, agent, tehsildar, patwari, and even an army major, has now been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Crime Circle Abbottabad.

Before being arrested, he pretended to be an assistant director in the K-P Food Department and tricked people into paying substantial amounts for fake job placements in various departments.

According to the FIR registered at the FIA Crime Circle Abbottabad, Fazal Ullah approached a resident of Nawansher, Abbottabad, and claimed to be an assistant director of the Food Department.

He promised to get the complainant's daughter recruited in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) at Grade 17 for Rs6 million.

Fazal Ullah took an initial amount of Rs3.5 as a deposit and made a written agreement with the complainant. After some time, he provided an appointment letter from the Election Commission of Pakistan. However, upon investigation, the letter was found to be fake.

Upon further inquiry by the FIA, it was confirmed that the appointment letter was fraudulent. Despite several notices being issued to Fazal Ullah, he failed to appear for the investigation.

As a result, an FIR was registered against him under sections 419, 420, 468, and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Additionally, Fazal Ullah had previously posed as an assistant director at the Haripur Food Authority and deceived a government employee from the Population Welfare Department.

He tricked her into paying Rs60 in exchange for a property in Habibullah Colony, and he fraudulently took the money after executing a written agreement in court.

An FIR was also registered against him at the Nawansher police station under sections.
