Emmad Irfani, the popular actor who gained immense recognition for his role as Adeel in the hit drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, recently made a fascinating revelation about his connection to Pakistan’s national poet, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Irfani made this revelation during his appearance on PTV’s Virsa: Heritage Revived, a show hosted by Yousuf Salahuddin, the grandson of Allama Iqbal. The actor, suprised the audience when he disclosed his blood relation to the host as well as the iconic poet of the East.

While on the show, Irfani expressed how much he had always enjoyed watching the show on TV and YouTube, but it was his first time experiencing it live. “It’s always a great learning experience visiting Uncle Yousuf,” said Irfani, speaking about the show’s cultural significance and the efforts made by its hosts to keep Pakistan’s rich heritage alive.

Yousuf Salahuddin, who is an ardent advocate for preserving Pakistan’s cultural legacy, then revealed that Irfani’s great-grandmother was actually the sister of Allama Iqbal, making Irfani a descendant of the poet. This revelation added a new dimension to Emmad Irfani’s public persona, linking him to one of the most important figures in Pakistan’s history.

Emmad Irfani has also appeared in several other successful dramas such as Jaan-e-Jahan, Cheekh, Jalan, and Shikwa, which further solidified his standing as one of Pakistan’s leading actors.
