ISLAMABAD:

PkMAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai has said the 'fake' government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is pushing the country towards anarchy.

Addressing a press conference along with MWM leader Allama Nasir Abbas, Achakzai said the country is at a critical juncture but the rulers are indifferent to the dire situation. "As many as 20 to 30 individuals are shot dead in the country every day, there is a ban on free speech – even in the assembly – and we are on the brink of bombing Afghanistan.

He called for convening a roundtable conference with army officials and members of the judiciary in attendance to address national crises. "It is our responsibility to protect the region from becoming a battleground. Luckily, China is our neighbour and friend. It has good relations with Afghanistan. With its good offices, Afghanistan should be made a cradle of peace rather than a hub of instability," said Achakzai.

He also criticized the military's role in exploiting the country's mineral-rich regions. "Wherever minerals are discovered, the army asserts control. The people of Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab must be engaged, and locals should receive their rightful share of these resources," Achakzai added.

In response to Achakzai's criticism, senior PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi said Achakzai is pursuing an anti-Pakistan agenda. At a time when Pakistan gave a tit-for-tat response to cross-border aggression, he is expressing sympathies for the aggressors. He shamelessly spreads lies at his age.

PML-N secretary information Marriyum Aurangzeb also lamented the statement of Achakzai, saying it was not expected of a senior politician to speak in contrast to the reality.

Achakzai is witness to the fact that Shehbaz Sharif always refused to ditch his elder brother Nawaz Sharif. He spurned the offer of premiership thrice but did not betray his brother. He not only stood by his brother firmly but also languished in prison for him.
