OVO rapper Smiley is returning to the music scene in 2025 with some exciting news for fans.
During a recent livestream, Smiley confirmed that he will be releasing a new track with his label boss, Drake. This collaboration marks their first since their 2021 hit, 'Over the Top.' Smiley teased that the new song will be a "slapper" and revealed it will be the lead single from his upcoming album.
While Smiley hasn’t worked extensively with Drake in the past, the two have remained close over the years. In a 2023 interview, Drake gave Smiley a shoutout, which went viral. Smiley later shared his amusement over Drake’s perfect impersonation of him, recalling a memorable moment when they enjoyed General Tso’s chicken together at Hong Shing restaurant in Toronto.
Reflecting on their bond, Smiley credited Drake with helping him transition away from street life. “Drake was my big dog,” Smiley explained, emphasizing how the rapper’s lifestyle inspired him to pursue music.
