A man previously declared dead by doctors in India's Maharashtra state was revived after an unexpected jolt from a speed breaker while being transported for his last rites.
The incident occurred in the town of Bowada, located in Kolhapur district, when 65-year-old Pandurang Alpe's family was on the way to his home with his body in an ambulance.
Alpe, who had suffered a heart attack on December 16, was rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead. His body was then transported to his house for the final preparations.
However, as the ambulance crossed a speed bump, the family noticed movement in his fingers, prompting them to rush him to another hospital.
Doctors at the second hospital confirmed that Alpe was alive, and after being treated, he underwent angioplasty.
He remained in the hospital for 15 days, defying all expectations. His miraculous survival was attributed to the unexpected bump during the journey.
The story has captivated people across the region, with many amazed at the unusual circumstances that led to his revival.
His family is now grateful for the second chance they never imagined.
