Jocelyn Wildenstein, the Swiss socialite renowned for her extreme plastic surgeries, has died at the age of 84. Her partner of 21 years, Lloyd Klein, confirmed that Wildenstein passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 31, 2024, while napping before New Year’s Eve celebrations.
“We had a nice happy hour the same night and were getting ready for the new year,” Klein said. “We took a little nap just to look good before getting dressed.”
Klein explained that Wildenstein suffered from phlebitis, a condition involving vein inflammation often caused by blood clots. He added, “Because of her phlebitis, the legs were very swollen, and the blood was blocked. There was no oxygen in the brain.”
Recalling the moment he discovered her passing, Klein shared, “When I wake up, I said, ‘Jocelyn, we have to wake up, we have to get dressed,’ and she was cold and she was dead. It’s extremely sad to lay down with your other half … and find her cold.”
Despite her condition, Klein noted that Wildenstein had been in “impeccable health” and enjoying life just days before her death. He described their holiday season in Paris as “beautiful,” with dinners at the Ritz and social appearances during Fashion Week.
“She was very happy and at the top of her game,” Klein said, reflecting on her return to Paris, where she was warmly welcomed.
Wildenstein leaves behind a legacy as an enduring pop culture figure, known for her unique appearance and high-profile social life.
