The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) continued its sit-ins in various parts of Karachi on Tuesday, marking the eighth consecutive day of protests against the Parachinar crisis, despite repeated government warnings.
However, the number of protest sites has significantly reduced, from 13 to just four by the morning.
While disruptions continue, the protests have caused substantial inconvenience for commuters, with business and working classes facing challenges due to prolonged road closures.
In response to the ongoing protests, several key routes across the city were either closed or partially blocked.
The authorities had been slow in clearing the affected pathways, which resulted in significant financial loss as people struggled to travel freely.
Open routes:
The road from Jauhar Chowrangi to Jauhar Mor has been cleared and is open to vehicular traffic.
Protests at Five Star Chowrangi and Shamsuddin Azeemi Road have been called off.
Surjani Town, Ancholi, and Golimar Chowrangi have been called off, making these roads accessible for commuters.
Closed routes:
Main M.A. Jinnah Road (Capri Side) near Numaish remains closed for traffic.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted from Capri to Soldier Bazaar and further towards Saddar Dawakhana.
Kamran Chowrangi remains completely closed for traffic.
