CM Punjab announces compensation for blast victims

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced Rs500,000 each for the families of the deceased.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced Rs500,000 each for the families of the deceased and Rs75,000 each for the injured of the attack on the Data Darbar complex on Friday.


Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep condolence for the victims' families. He also directed the concerned hospital authorities to ensure provision of the best medical care to those injured in the blasts.


Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani also took strict notice of the blasts, and ordered Interior Minister Rehman Malik to present a detailed report on the attack.


Gilani strongly condemned the attacks, saying: "Terrorists have no consideration for any religion, faith or belief. These terrorists neither respect human values nor care for human lives, and their brutal act is manifestation of their evil designs."

He said he had directed the provincial government and law enforcement agencies to investigate the attack and catch those responsible.

MMA | 14 years ago | Reply The punjab govt has failed to preotect its people. Look at the number of attacks by terrorists as of late, it is disturbing. Nawaz Sharif and his brother have no business, whatsoever, to be in the government.

But the largest incident / attacks which was done by the terrorists on Religious place of Lahorities, has given very deep wounds on heart / thoughts of lahore people. And Mr. Khadim-e-Ala your entire team never stop the terrorists to attack, they succeed to gave deep wounds on hearts of lahore people (the followers of Sakhi Peer Data Ali Hajveri (R.A)). I love my Sakhi Peer and the attackers couldn't out the love of Sakhi Peer Data (R.A) from my and follower hearts. InshAllah Azawajal. Please Mr. Khadim-e-Ala do something for these deep wounds.
