Police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his father over a property dispute in Mannu Goth, Purani Sabzi Mandi, within the remits of PIB police station.
According to the FIR, registered on the complaint of the victim's widow, Shazia, her husband, Abdul Ghani, had contracted a second marriage with her at least 14 years ago, while he had two sons, Ijaz and Shaukat, from his first marriage. Shazia also has two sons and a daughter from her first husband.
The complainant further stated that Shaukat lives with them. Recently, Abdul Ghani sold a plot, and Shaukat started asking his father for his share in the money, but Abdul Ghani refused. Angered by his father's refusal, Shaukat allegedly shot him dead.
Shaukat's paternal uncle, identified as Shabbir was also nominated as accomplice in the FIR.
