Five more members of Golden Child and four members of Rocket Punch are parting ways with Woollim Entertainment, sparking speculation about the future of both groups. The departures follow earlier exits, leaving fans concerned about the groups' continuity.
On December 27, Woollim Entertainment announced that Golden Child members Lee Daeyeol, Y, Bae Seungmin, Bong Jaehyun, and Kim Donghyun will leave the agency when their contracts expire on December 31. This follows the departures of TAG, Jibeom, and Bomin in August, leaving only Joochan and Jangjun in the group. Once a 10-member group, Golden Child now faces an uncertain future, with fans questioning whether the group might disband entirely.
Following a similar trend, Rocket Punch, another group under Woollim Entertainment, is experiencing comparable changes. The agency revealed that members YeonHee, YunKyoung, SoHee, and DaHyun will also conclude their contracts by December 31. With the earlier departure of Juri in May, only Suyun remains in the group, fueling speculation that Rocket Punch may also disband.
Fans of both groups have expressed concern on social media, questioning Woollim Entertainment's future plans for their artists. Some fear that these sudden changes indicate broader challenges within the agency. Despite the concerns, no official statements regarding the disbandment of either group have been issued.
Golden Child debuted in 2017 with their mini-album GOL-CHA, building a solid discography over the years. Rocket Punch, who debuted in 2019 with Pink Punch, followed a similar trajectory, most recently releasing their single album Boom in 2023.
As fans wait for clarity, the sudden departures leave lingering uncertainty about the trajectory of these beloved groups.
