Taking to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, television star Humayun Saeed penned a short and sweet note for his wife of almost 30 years, Samina, on her birthday.

"Happy birthday Sam my love and strength," wrote the Gentleman actor. "Love you forever. May Allah always keep you happy, healthy and smiling."

Happily married since 1995, the couple typically keep their relationship offline, despite Humayun's profession as one of the country's top actors being carried out in the public eye. Despite this determination to safeguard their privacy, Humayun has not been immune to "baseless" rumours of relationship status over the years. In an interview on a local web channel earlier this year, the star spoke eloquently of his bond with Samina and rubbished any rumours of his marriage to anyone else.

"You hear all these baseless rumours about me being married to all these different actors, like Meera or Mishi Khan – none of them are true," he had cautioned at the time. "I'm married to just one woman, and that is Samina!"

Committed as ever to Samina, Humayun was adamant that she is the only woman for him, and joked, "It isn't practical to have any adventures anymore – I'm too scared of my wife!"

Just as Humayun is less active on social media compared to his cohorts, Samina, too, keeps her life private. "She never liked having her photo taken, but every now and then she'll put up a selfie," Humayun had mused in the same interview when reflecting on the pros and cons of social media. "I do think social media has taken over our lives, but I also think it can be a great thing, to have that validation from people sometimes when someone likes your picture. It makes people happy."

Bearing in mind Humayun and Samina's staunch privacy outlook, the actor's sweet birthday note on his IG Stories is a small snapshot of a thriving marriage that has side-stepped the pitfalls of showbiz on social media.
