The Sindh Education Department has instructed private schools not to charge students advance or additional fees, according to a circular issued by the Directorate of Inspection and Private Institutions.

The directive aims to provide financial relief to parents and students, ensuring a fair and transparent fee collection process.

The circular stated that, as per the Steering Committee’s decision, the academic year 2025-26 will commence on April 1, 2025 and to alleviate financial burdens, it has been mandated that tuition fees for matriculation students should only be collected up to April.

For students from pre-primary to grade nine, and those promoted from grade nine to grade ten, tuition fees for June and July can be collected during April and May.

However, schools are required to issue separate fee vouchers for each month to maintain clarity and transparency in the process.

Furthermore, the circular specifies that the June fee vouchers must remain payable until June 30, while the July fee vouchers should be settled by July 31.

This staggered approach is designed to prevent financial strain on parents and ensure timely payment of fees without undue pressure.

Ishtiaq | 1 week ago | Reply Respected Sir It is respectfully submitted that private schools are currently collecting June and July vacation fees in advance which is not in accordance with the directives of the Sindh Government as advance fee collection has been clearly prohibited. Due to the prevailing economic challenges unemployment and financial hardship parents are already under severe pressure. The advance collection of vacation fees is creating an additional and unbearable financial burden on parents. In view of the above circumstances it is humbly requested that the Sindh Government may kindly review this matter and consider a balanced and fair solution. As a relief measure it is proposed that One month s fee may be borne by parents and One month s fee may be adjusted or borne by the private schools. This step will greatly help parents during these difficult times and ensure compliance with government policies while maintaining harmony between parents and private schools. We hope the concerned authorities will take sympathetic and immediate action in the best interest of parents and students. Thanking you. Ishtiaq sikander
