Express Media Group, 1Link launch podcast series

Aim to educate public on cyber security, banking fraud, digital transactions

The Express Media Group and 1Link Private Limited have announced the launch of their financial education podcast series. Under the series, 12 unique podcasts will highlight the benefits and challenges of cyber security, banking fraud and digital transactions.

In the New Year, 1Link will introduce a unique payment scheme for women with savings and insurance among other benefits.

The launching ceremony of the Financial Education Podcast Series was held at the 1Link office at Clifton, Karachi.

1Link Chief Executive Officer Najeeb Agrawalla, Chief Commercial Officer Maliha Anwer Khan, Head of Innovation Shaista Abdullah, Company Secretary MarCom and Corporate Affairs Syed Suleman Hasan, Assistant General Manager MarCom and CA Seema Kaswani, EssenceMediacom General Manager Ovais Ilyas, EssenceMediacom Director Investments Zakir Bilal, EssenceMediacom Associate Director Salwa Bhatti, Express Media Group Executive Director Marketing & Sales Azfar Mahmud Nizami, Express Publications Associate Director Marketing Kamran Ahmed, Express News General Manager Sales and Marketing Saad Bin Rasheed and Express Publications General Manager Marketing Romina Ali, among others, were present.

1Link CEO Najeeb Agrawalla stated, "Today is a very important and auspicious day, as we are taking a unique initiative, through a partnership which will be very interesting and informative for the public. We strive to present topics that are useful for public awareness through 1Link and our PayPak cards, Express Media Group and Group M Podcasts. These topics include cyber security, banking fraud, use and benefits of cards in technology, tax benefits and other important topics."

Assistant General Manager MarCom at 1Link Seema Kaswani said the partnership aims to educate the public about the benefits and challenges of digital transactions. "Through this podcast series, we will try to involve major banks, card issuers, partners, acquirers and regulators, so that they can play their part in providing useful information to the public."

1Link Chief Commercial Officer Maliha Anwer Khan said that every initiative of 1Link is dedicated to the betterment of Pakistan and the country's economy. PayPak is Pakistan's domestic payment scheme. When it was launched, Pakistan was the 28th country to introduce its national scheme. Today, more than 90 countries have their own domestic scheme.

She added that a new and exciting phase is about to begin with PayPak, as they will be launching a unique product for women. This payment scheme is designed keeping in mind the specific needs of women, which will include savings, digital spending, insurance and other benefits.

"We are sure that this scheme will be very popular among women and will help in fulfilling their financial needs. With the beginning of the New Year, this scheme will be introduced which will be a revolutionary step for the women of Pakistan," she said.

EssenceMediacom GM Ovais Ilyas said, "PayPak has taken a great initiative under which we have decided to create a financial podcast series. Usually there are podcasts on other topics but this will be a unique podcast of its kind. Through this, individuals will get an opportunity to increase their knowledge about banking and financial matters. The series will invite guests who will be key decision makers, so that valuable information could be provided to the listeners."

Express Media Group Executive Director Marketing and Sales Azfar Mahmud Nizami expressed hope that the series, jointly produced by 1Link and Express Media Group, will include 12 podcasts that will be aired on Express News. These podcasts will contribute positively to the awareness of the public about the financial landscape.
