Robert Lewis, known online as BlackDevilX (BDX), has passed away, with the news emerging on December 19.
The announcement came after BDX’s friend, Aeon, shared a Discord message from the YouTuber’s sister on X (formerly Twitter). According to the message, BDX, 36, tragically suffered a heart attack while vacationing in Aruba with his family. Despite the efforts of several medical professionals, he could not be resuscitated.
In her post, BDX’s sister expressed deep sorrow, noting that further details would be shared later. Aeon, who had been friends with BDX for nearly 20 years, paid tribute to the impact BDX had on his life. The YouTuber is survived by his wife and two sons.

Aeon confirmed that BDX had a history of heart issues, including a previous heart attack. Additionally, it was revealed that BDX had been working on FFSX7, which he had completed but later reworked due to dissatisfaction with the final product.
He was 36, and he had heart problems, including another attack a few years back.

While the future of the FFSX series remains uncertain, Aeon has not confirmed its cancellation. In the wake of BDX’s death, a fundraiser was created by Christopher DeLucia on December 18 to cover funeral expenses. As of now, the campaign has raised $465 toward its $12,000 goal. It remains unclear if BDX’s family is aware of the fundraiser.
