Man held for 'abusing' daughter-in-law

Man arrested for assaulting daughter-in-law, thanks to swift response from Virtual Women Police.

LAHORE:

A man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his daughter-in-law.

The arrest was facilitated through a swift response by the Virtual Women Police Station of the Safe City Authority.

The case came to light when the victim's father called the 15 Emergency Helpline to report the crime.

The victim said her father-in-law had assaulted her multiple times and threatened her with dire consequences, including death, if she disclosed the abuse.

Upon receiving the call, the Virtual Women Police Station promptly dispatched a team to the location, ensuring the suspect was apprehended.

Investigations revealed that the father-in-law took advantage of his son's absence to harass and assault the woman.

The spokesperson for the Safe City Authority emphasised that the - response was made possible through dedicated helpline for women.
