Flats sealed for building bylaw violations

The enforcement squad of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) raided 15 flats and a restaurant in Mid City Apartments on account of commercial use of residential flats.

RDA Director General, Kanza Murtaza, has clarified that operations will continue to enforce residential and commercial zoning laws and maintain the integrity of residential areas.

On the direction of the Director General, the RDA enforcement squad has raided 15 residential flats and a restaurant at Mid City Apartments located at Old Airport in Mouza Gangal, Rawalpindi. The action was taken against illegal conversion of residential flats into commercial properties. The flats were being used for commercial purposes in violation of RDA regulations. Such activities are prohibited in residential zones.

The RDA team carried out this operation with the support of Rawalpindi Old Airport police station. Under the leadership of RDA Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, the operation was conducted by Building Superintendent Fahad Bhatti, Building Surveyor Malik Amir Mehmood and others. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of residential areas.

DG Kanza Murtaza said, "We will continue to take strict action against those who violate rules and regulations and misuse residential properties for commercial purposes."
