Instagram is launching a new feature to help users reflect on the year by sharing a collage of their favorite moments.
Available through the first week of January, the feature allows users to combine multiple images from the year into one story.
This update gives users a new way to share memories, making it easy to showcase a selection of pictures that highlight special moments.
Until now, creating collage-like stories on Instagram required users to manually resize and arrange images in a story, with some added as stickers.
Instagram's layout feature also allows multiple photos to appear in a grid format, but this new update streamlines the process, giving users the ability to create more dynamic and personalized stories.
In addition to the collage feature, Instagram is rolling out several temporary year-end updates. Among these are the "Add Yours" templates, which allow users to create story prompts and encourage friends to respond with their own posts. New "New Year" and "Countdown" text effects are also being introduced, offering a festive touch for users celebrating the transition into 2024.
Instagram has also added holiday-themed chat backgrounds for direct messages, along with special secret phrases like “Happy New Year,” which trigger unique effects in DMs and notes.
