FIR of girl killed at home filed

The Gulistan-e-Johar police on Monday registered a case against unidentified culprit for killing an 18-year-old girl with a pistol shot at her home on Saturday night.

The case has been registered on the complaint of deceased Dua Shahid's father, who police said is not her biological parent. Gulistan-e-Johar police station SHO Pir Shabbir Jan said the teen was hit with a single bullet to the back of the neck, which pierced through and hit her nine month old niece.

"The incident happened in a two-room house, yet the family says they don't know who did it," SHO Jan said. He asserted his doubts that someone from the family was behind the murder. "Just let us question them in our own way," he said.

In the FIR, Shahid told the police that he was at work when he received information that his daughter Dua, and granddaughter Anosha, have been shot. He rushed home and found both the girls lying in a pool of blood. The initial medical report says that the deceased Dua was shot with a pistol to her head. The house where the shooting incident took place consists of two rooms, but nobody heard the gun fire, police said.

Police further disclosed that the deceased girl was not the biological daughter of the complainant Shahid.
