The port city experienced the coldest night of the year with the temperature dipping to 8.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday night, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Monday.
However, PMD said that on Tuesday the temperature was likely to hover between 12 and 24 degrees Celsius.
On the Sunday night, the temperature at Jinnah Terminal dropped to a low of 8.9°C, while other areas, including Gulistan-e-Johar and Sharea Faisal, recorded temperatures of 10.5°C and 11.5°C, respectively. Mauripur saw a temperature of 12.5°C. The PMD reported that the weather in Karachi is cold and dry, with daytime temperatures expected to reach 27°C. The cold weather is being further intensified by icy winds from Balochistan, causing the temperature to feel 2 to 4 degrees lower than the actual reading.
