Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to enhance collaboration in the fight against narcotics under the framework of bilateral cooperation.
The agreement was reached during a meeting in Riyadh between Pakistan's Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, and Saudi Director General of Narcotics Control, Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Qarni.
During the meeting, Naqvi emphasised the need for joint international efforts to combat drug trafficking, stressing that no single country can tackle this global issue alone. "Pakistan will continue its cooperation with Saudi Arabia to implement effective anti-narcotics measures," he added.
Naqvi also visited the headquarters of the Saudi Directorate of Narcotics Control, where he toured the control room and other departments. He was briefed on the strategies and systems in place for drug interdiction.
In response to Pakistan's ongoing efforts, Major General Mohammed Al-Qarni offered to provide advanced narcotics detection tools to Pakistan as part of their continued support in the fight against drug trafficking.
