Apparently defending Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's briefing to the foreign media, PTI leader and former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser has said their party wants to show the world how Pakistan has turned into a fascist state.
"There is neither law nor Constitution here. Peaceful citizens, who wanted to protest for democracy and their demands, were fired upon," Qaiser said on Sunday. He was referring to the PTI's protest march that was dispersed by authorities on November 26.
The PTI at first claimed that hundreds of its workers had been killed during the crackdown. However, it later reduced the number to 12.
Qaiser said, "Our martyrs have sacrificed for the supremacy of the Constitution, and their sacrifices will always be remembered in Pakistan's history." He said the PTI will hold large ceremonies to pay tribute to the people who got allegedly killed in the crackdown.
The former NA speaker claimed that the PTI workers sacrificed their lives to ensure supremacy of the Constitution and to strengthen democracy in the country. "We will not forget the sacrifices of our martyrs," he added.
