Miley Cyrus has earned her first Golden Globe nomination in over 15 years for the song Beautiful That Way, featured in the film The Last Showgirl. Co-written with Andrew Wyatt and Lykke Li, the track is nominated for Best Original Song at both the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards.

In a recent Instagram post, Cyrus expressed gratitude to The Last Showgirl director Gia Coppola for involving her in the project and praised the film’s star, Pamela Anderson, for her outstanding performance. “Pamela is graciously sharing her moment with us, and it’s been incredible to watch her shine. Thank you, Gia Coppola, for inviting me to be part of this beautiful gem,” wrote Cyrus.

The Last Showgirl highlights Anderson as Shelley, a veteran Vegas dancer navigating life after her show’s sudden cancellation. The storyline also explores her journey to rebuild relationships, including those with her estranged daughter. The cast features Jamie Lee Curtis, Kiernan Shipka, Dave Bautista, and Brenda Song.

During a recent event, co-writer Andrew Wyatt noted that Cyrus’s life experience brought depth to the song. “Miley, despite her young age, has lived through several phases, giving her a unique perspective that resonates in this film,” he explained.

With this nod, Cyrus adds another accolade to her diverse career. The nomination also marks a significant cultural moment for Anderson’s return to film and reinforces The Last Showgirl’s emotional storytelling and artistic excellence.
