Minor girl among four killed in traffic accidents

Traffic accidents claimed four lives including a minor girl in different areas of the city on Saturday.

According to details, a girl died after she was hit by a motorcycle on Hawkes Bay Road within the limits of Mauripur police station. The body of the deceased was shifted to the Civil Hospital, where she was identified as 11-year-old Yusra, daughter of Ghulam Yasin.

The police said that the deceased girl had just got off the bus with her mother and brother when a motorcycle coming from behind hit her, killing her on the spot. The police, with the help of the citizens present at the scene, detained the motorcyclist responsible for the accident.

In another road mishap, two people riding a motorcycle were seriously injured after a truck hit them on Native Jetty Bridge in the Docks police station area. The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital, however, they succumbed to their injuries on way to the hospital.

The deceased were identified as 20-year-old Sahil Khan and 18-year-old Asad, residents of Mauripur. The police arrested the driver of the truck responsible for the accident and registered a case. A man was killed and several others injured when the rickshaw, they were traveling in, collided with a trailer on the National Highway in Bin Qasim police station limits. The deceased and injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital where the deceased was identified as 28-year-old Altaf Ali.
