Gandapur vows revenge for blood of PTI workers martyred in November 26 protest

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has vowed that the sacrifices of PTI workers who were martyred during the 26 November protests at D-Chowk will not be forgotten, pledging to seek justice for their deaths.

Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Havelian Water Supply Scheme, Gandapur stated, "We will definitely take account of the blood of our martyrs. I salute those who sacrificed their lives for true democracy."

He added that the struggle for a self-reliant and independent nation will continue.

The project, with an estimated cost of PKR 4.64 billion, is expected to be completed in two years. Once finished, it will provide 250,000 gallons of water per day to both urban and rural areas of the Havelian Tehsil, benefitting nearly 94,000 people.

Alongside the water supply scheme, Gandapur announced several other multi-billion rupee development projects for Havelian, including the purchase of land for a cemetery, construction of the Havelian City Bypass, and other infrastructure upgrades. He committed to making Havelian a model developed area.

The Chief Minister also urged local officials to increase their engagement with the public, calling for daily open court sessions and at least one hour of direct interaction with citizens in their offices.

He instructed authorities to crack down on illegal mining and unregistered crushing plants, and mandated the registration of all warehouses in the division by January 1.

In his address, Gandapur emphasised the need for transparency and accountability in development projects, saying, “Development projects are funded by the public’s taxes. The people must take ownership of these projects and ensure their quality. If any substandard work is identified, the government will take action.”

He also stressed the importance of building public trust in government institutions.

Gandapur further directed that inspections of shops and businesses should be carried out by a single team to avoid harassment of traders, and that first-time violators should be given a warning before penalties are imposed.

He also announced the introduction of an e-payment system for fines to improve the collection process.

The KP CM’s visit and announcements aim to further consolidate PTI’s development agenda in the region, while addressing public concerns and seeking justice for those who lost their lives during the political unrest.
