Pakistan’s Information Minister Ataullah Tarar and Head of Communications at the Turkish Presidency Professor Prof. Fahrettin Altun, have reached an agreement to enhance media cooperation between the two nations.

The two sides agreed to joint broadcasts between PTV and Turkiye's state-run television TRT, including airing popular Turkish dramas like Erturul Ghazi in Pakistan.

The discussions centred on strengthening ties in the media sector, promoting public diplomacy, and countering Islamophobia and misinformation.

Both countries also agreed to form a working group under the Ministry of Information and the Turkish Directorate of Communications to further advance these efforts.

Tarar emphasised the long-standing brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye and highlighted the potential for greater collaboration in media.

He noted that such cooperation would not only enhance cultural exchanges but also deepen understanding of their historical ties, especially among younger generations.

In addition to media initiatives, the two officials discussed joint ventures in tourism and entertainment.

Tarar extended an invitation for Altun to visit Pakistan, where both sides are keen to explore new avenues for collaboration, particularly in cultural and media exchanges.
