KARACHI:

Two armed men in police uniform snatched $2,000 from a citizen on Shahrah-e-Pakistan near Hashim Shopping Centre on Friday.

The Gulbarga police registered the case against the unidentified suspects on the complaint of the victim, identified as Tajumal Hussain, son of Muhammad Khan.

In his report, Hussain stated that he was travelling to a money exchange near Hashim Shopping Center after withdrawing $2,000 from his brother Rafiq's account at a bank located in Dastagir.

Meanwhile, two men clad in police uniforms pulled up their green colour car bearing registration number BNAE430 and signaled him to stop for a body search, Hussain added.

The uniformed men snatched the $2,000 he was carrying and sped away their car towards Water Pump.

"I immediately reported the incident on 15, but police arrived at the scene half an hour after the incident," he added.

Police registered the case and started investigations.
