Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has officially retired from international cricket, bringing an end to a remarkable career in the national colors. The decision comes just nine months after he reversed an earlier retirement announcement made in March 2024, following his initial declaration in November 2023.

Imad's last outing for Pakistan was during the T20 World Cup 2024 in the United States, where he faced Ireland in what would be his final international match. He delivered a stellar performance, conceding just 8 runs in his four overs while taking 3 wickets. Despite his heroics, Pakistan's campaign ended prematurely, leaving fans disappointed.

During the T20 World Cup 2024, Imad participated in three matches, claiming three wickets at an average of 14.66 with an impressive economy rate of 4. With the bat, he scored 19 runs in two innings, with a top score of 15.

Across his T20I career, Imad represented Pakistan in 75 matches, scoring 554 runs at an average of 15.82 and a strike rate of 130.04. His prowess as a bowler stood out, as he took 73 wickets at an average of 21.75 and an economy rate of 6.20.

In ODIs, Imad played 55 matches, amassing 986 runs at an outstanding average of 42.86, which included five half-centuries. He also claimed 44 wickets with an economy rate of 4.88, cementing his status as a dependable all-rounder.

Announcing his retirement, Imad shared a heartfelt message with his fans, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to represent Pakistan.

"After much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket. Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honor of my life, and every moment wearing the green jersey has been unforgettable," he said in a post on X.

"Your unwavering support, love, and passion have always been my biggest strength. From the highs to the lows, your encouragement has pushed me to give my best for our beloved country.

"While this chapter comes to an end, I look forward to continuing my journey in cricket through domestic and franchise cricket, and I hope to keep entertaining you all in new ways," he added, thanking the nation for its support.

Haris Rauf discusses SA pitches and ICC award

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has said that the pitches in South Africa are high-scoring, and the bowling unit will aim to restrict the opposition to the lowest possible score.

Speaking at a press conference in Johannesburg, Rauf acknowledged that the team made several mistakes in the first match, but they have discussed them and are focused on improving.

Rauf stated, "Today's match is crucial for the series, and we will try our best to win. We aim to give our best performance in tomorrow's game."

Rauf also expressed gratitude after receiving the ICC Player of the Month award, saying, "I thank Allah for being named ICC Player of the Month."
