CPEC brings $25.4b investment, 236k jobs

The CPEC has brought a total of $25.4 billion in direct investment, 236,000 jobs, 510 kilometers of highways, more than 8,000 megawatts of electricity and 886 kilometers of core transmission to Pakistan.

It was stated by Chinese Ambassador Jiang Ziadong on Friday during a ceremony at the Chinese Embassy.

The Chinese en-voy and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal awarded the staff working on the CPEC for their outstanding performance and contri-butions to the success of the initiative.

The Chinese ambassador said the network has played an irreplaceable role in promoting Pakistan's economic and social development and regional integration, and has become an important game changer.

Speaking at the ceremony, the planning minister emphasized the significance of recognizing the exceptional contributions of employees working on CPEC projects, said a news release.

The event reflected the hard work, commitment, and collaborative spirit that have defined the bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and China, he added.

Ahsan highlighted that CPEC stands as a symbol of the deep and enduring friendship between the two nations, fostering economic collaboration, people-to-people ties, and strategic partnerships over the past decade.

The minister commended the employees for their tireless efforts, which have been instrumental in the success of CPEC.

He acknowledged their con-tributions across various domains, including infrastructure development, energy projects, logistics, and technology, which have collectively shaped Pakistan's future. (With input from APP)
