Jonathan Bailey, known for his roles in Bridgerton and the upcoming Wicked film, is looking forward to becoming a father someday.

Speaking with British Vogue, the 36-year-old actor revealed his plans to adopt a child in the future, though his current lifestyle isn’t conducive to raising children.

“Yes, it’s such a privilege for a man,” Bailey shared when asked about his desire to have children. “But I can’t bring children into my lifestyle now,” he explained, citing his demanding career.

Bailey is already preparing for fatherhood by reading about adoption and exploring the possibility of co-parenting. “I might co-parent with a woman, but I’m thinking it will be with a man,” he revealed, showcasing his thoughtful approach to building a family.

Bailey, who began his career as a child actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company, has since risen to prominence with acclaimed performances in both television and theater. In Wicked, he stars as Prince Fiyero, the love interest of Glinda, played by Ariana Grande.

Discussing their time on set, Grande reflected on their instant connection: “We were both very theater children in the room,” she said. Bailey added, “We were the giggliest pair. It carbonated our chemistry.” The two actors developed a close friendship as their characters’ on-screen romance blossomed.

Though fatherhood remains a future goal, Bailey is committed to ensuring he’s present and prepared when the time comes. Fans continue to support the actor’s personal and professional journey as he balances career ambitions with dreams of starting a family.
